The company history of Maschinenbau Riebsamen began in 1990 with the development of a manual lifting device for headstones. Further innovations followed, such as a tracked vehicle with portal rail. With the construction of the first crane on a tracked vehicle in 1995 (a crawler crane), the company laid the cornerstone for future-oriented production. Development continued: In 1997, Riebsamen manufactured its first crawler chassis. 

At GaLaBau in 1998, Siegfried Riebsamen presented his new Riebsamen E-M crane with standard track widening of 60 to 90 cm for the first time. By combining a narrow gauge (60 cm), the installation of a loading crane with a maximum extension of 5.80 m and a load capacity of up to 1,820 kg – with a working range of 330 degrees – the time and cost savings are enormous.
